Page Impressions

Principala metoda de masurarea a audientei in ceea ce priveste spatiului publicitar online. Un 'page impression' este o combinatie de unu sau mai multe documente prezentate unui utilizator sub forma unui singur document ca urmarea a unei singuri cereri la server-ul site-ului. Aceasta masurare in mod normal calculeaza de cate ori documentul HTML al site-ului a fost cerut. Page impressions/afisarile de pagina s-ar putea sa supraestimeze numarul de afisari publicitare daca utilizatorii aleg sa opreasca afisarile grafice in browser, de vreme ce imaginile nu sunt de obicei luate in calcul. In mod logic, calculul afisarilor de pagina nu reuseste sa include paginile vazute prin provider si prin caches.

A page impression is defined as the combination of one or more files presented to the viewer as a single document as a result of a single request received by the site's server. Page impression measurement software normally counts the number of times a page's HTML file(s) was requested. Page impressions may overstate the number of advertising impressions for an ad appearing on the page if users choose to turn the graphics off (not display the images) in their browser, since image files are typically not counted. Conversely, page impression counts fail to include page views from service provider and browser caches (see Banner, Banner Impressions,Cache/Caching, Hits, ISP, OSP).
