The MSD (marketing service desk) is a vendor role within the <CEE Area Team > Marketing Service Desk. The Education MSD is primarily responsible for localization review, campaign management and service coordination/delivery between the Edu category marketers and CMO (subsidiary marketers). The Education MSD may also be the marketer’s primary point of contact for recommendations and consultation regarding MSC services.

The education MSD is part of the <CEE Area Team > Marketing Service Desk team and is usually physically located near the < CEE Area Team > headquarters to provide support.

What is this role, and how does it positively impact the business?

The Education (EDU) MSD role supports and enables local Edu campaign execution. They provide end-to-end planning, execution and analysis services, with tangible positive results for key performance indicators. They also ensure that campaigns are running seamlessly across different systems and tools, so they provide a great experience for our customers and partners.

The EDU MSD must deliver across the following six competency areas:
1. Drive Efficient Localization
2. Enable Integrated and Consistent Marketing Execution from Area HQ to Subsidiaries
3. Provide Project Management and Extensible Service Coverage
4. Support a Cross-Engine Approach (Events, Data, Email)
5. Provide Knowledge of Marketing Tools and Services
6. Be a Consultant and a Trusted Advisor


Day to Day Responsibilities Include:

  • Localization of Corp translated Edu assets including review, validation, and modifications:
    - Review translated assets and work with both Area MSD and local translator to ensure high quality finished goods within time-to-market SLA
    - Be the content gatekeeper for all <Area> HQ originating marketing content requiring translation review and approval
    - Ensure that area campaigns are prioritized, reviewed, approved and deployed
    - Collect and consolidate feedback about translation quality, asset deployment and asset performance. 

  • Support for Edu lead marketing activities: M365, Azure, Digital Transformation, MEC, Devices 
  • Marketing budget management, including Po creation deadlines, endure seasonality of spending 
  • Planning governance and guidance – manages measurement plans and core KPIs associated with campaign
    - Reviews performance dashboards and optimizes campaign assets/approach based on learnings
    - Ensures activities are measured and optimized for performance.
    - Advises stakeholders on overall execution processes SLAs, KPIs, tools.

  • Provide holistic even management support, excluding on the ground services: own the event set-up process end to end (electronic communication with participants, Ensure SLAs are met and marketer expectations for campaign delivery are set appropriately, make sure all marketing communications are privacy-compliant, follow-up surveys, data upload, etc.) 
  • Maintain exceptional documentation surrounding reporting processes, data management, and testing results
    - Work with key stakeholders to gather, cleanse, and import data into the marketing automation system
    - Data management (maintain database and work with Data Team: Contactability, profiling/ Lead management)
    - Identifying data discrepancies and alerting campaign managers and system administrators of potential issues

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of various platforms, by working with privacy team and CEE web team 
  • Provide support within marketing campaigns, newsletter engine, and work with MSC Teams: Digital team, Database team)
    - Maintain exceptional documentation surrounding reporting processes, data management, and testing results

  • Orchestrate the activities between the extended team of MSDs and Edu field
  • Business analysis:
    - Marketing budget orchestration, including Po creation deadlines, endure seasonality of spending
    - Reporting processes (MSX Demand Generation Dashboard)


Required Competencies/Skills:

  • Proven skills in written and verbal communications
  • Fluent in English 
  • Intermediate to advanced project management strategies and tools
  • Basic business, systems, and process analysis
  • Demonstrated understanding of marketing communications vehicles, tools and execution, both online and offline
  • Ability to articulate and evangelize services with stakeholders
  • Relationship management, collaboration and conflict resolution skills 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft brand and products.


Required Experience:

  • University degree 
  • At least 3-5 years solid marketing communications (agency or client side), business operations or business consulting experience
  • People/team management experience preferred, but not required.
