Job Description

IBM’s Market Development and Insights team provides value creation by delivering trusted, integrated strategic insights and recommendations that improve IBM business performance and fuel growth.

The Market & Brand Research Associate Advisor is responsible for working on setting up and managing online monitoring platforms, providing company-wide enablement sessions around the use of digital insights as-a-service as well as online insights analyses. These focus on buyers, industries, IBM and competitor brands and offerings, via the MD&I Social Monitors.

It implies thorough knowledge of online media metrics and measurements to be used in various business contexts, a high familiarity with the specific needs of the target audiences as well as a capacity to assess and translate the technical aspects of various online media monitoring offerings into valuable discussion points that drive action within IBM.

The role has ownership for a online listening tool in the Social Monitors suite which looks at share of voice, daily/weekly/monthly trends, trending stories and sentiment, and custom metrics that are crucial in the activities of Sales & Marketing teams (including portfolio managers, event specialists, digital and social media strategists, brand & comms specialists, as well as any other role identified later that could benefit from such analysis).

 

Must Have Skills:

  • Build and maintain a close working relationship with key stakeholders to ensure that expectations are clearly understood and exceeded.
  • Synthesize multiple sources of data (secondary data, social data, and market data) and translate these into actionable insights that connect directly to client business objectives.
  • Conduct analyses and build findings presentations, for a broad range of project types and audiences, including short-term research requests as well as long-term exploration.
  • Strong ability to adapt in new environments and drive continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in Romanian, English and German.

 

Preferred skills:

  • Ability to create and maintain excellent stakeholder relationships withing and across the wider MD&I team, with Marketing and Business teams.
  • Experience in working with Agile or Design Thinking methodologies.
  • Excellent cross-cultural collaboration and understanding of peers' personal values.
