Job Description

The Analytics Specialist is part of the marketing teams, playing a vital advisory role in both stages of the marketing business plan (planning and optimization), influencing business decisions with data knowledge and insights, using all available analytics tools and capabilities. In a digital era, understanding and working with digital metrics and data is highly important.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Creates recommendations and insights based on data findings to improve business decisions, strategic view, marketing KPIs
• Marketing performance: Analyzes overall Business Unit/campaign performance, identifying business impact of marketing tactic mix and audience segments.
• Audience: Provides data driven client insights by developing segmentation based on observed behavior from IBMs data sources

2. Consults and collaborates within teams to use IBM’s databases and analytics tools to support marketing campaign execution and optimization
• Leads discussions for understanding the business need and the requirements for analysis
• Ensures the teams have the funnel statistics for planning and optimization (from the available analytics tools)
• Engages proactively on testing new ideas/adjusting campaigns based on "near real time" analyses
• Interprets and presents the results/insights of the analyses and drives campaign improvement by providing recommendation

3. Continuous education on new tools and enablement of the marketing teams
• Continuously educates oneself and others on new data topics with high focus on digital (eg. new data capabilities, new reporting tools, new data base etc.)
• Advocates, promotes, and provides expertise on the use of data, new models, processes, privacy, and tool requirements to the marketing team members
• Coordinates the implementation of marketing pilots/projects focused on data driven capabilities
• Partners with Geo and Worldwide teams to input requirements into Worldwide and Client Information initiatives (IDM, MPW, etc. )

 

Requirements:

• >5 years experience in marketing – preferred in marketing analytics
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (excellent English), demonstrated leadership skills, and project management skills.
• Deep understanding of marketing data, segmentation, KPIs - Proficiency with spreadsheets & presentation software (Excel & PowerPoint are a must)
• Understanding of direct and digital marketing, and concepts of marketing automation
• Business knowledge and consultative skills - problem solving approach
• Negotiation skills

 

Preferred skills:

• Experience in working with SQL, with DB2 skills - Proficiency in use of QMF/SPSS or other Query/Insight tools accessing DB2 databases is a plus.

 

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• >5 years experience in marketing – preferred in marketing analytics
