The Copywriter is responsible for developing unique and innovative ideas that solve our clients’ real-world business challenges — and translating those ideas into engaging, effective copy for nearly every conceivable digital and traditional marketing channel.
The Copywriter is the voice of a brand. Using emerging strategic thinking skills to conceive and execute marketing solutions consistent with client-approved creative and lead-gen strategies, the Copywriter asks the right questions, and looks for new ways to interpret the problem.
The Copywriter understands the brand, articulates and presents concepts, and relays ideas in a logical manner.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, media studies, business and/or related fields
  • 2-4 years experience in Copy role for a marketing communication organization, preferably in an advertising agency setting
  • Demonstrated portfolio of creative and B2B creative work

Primary Responsibilities

Thought Leadership/ Technical and Marketing Craft

  • Develop and direct original copy concepts that are exciting and creatively attractive
  • Devise innovative solutions to meet the creative brief
  • Seek out and embrace new technologies. Use expertise of all social media platforms to incorporate creative ideas into sound copy solutions

Internal Integration:

  • Seek out and work with others internally to maintain creative excellence
  • Work with art counterpart to develop creative digital ideas and concepts
  • Collaborate with Art Directors and Designers, Content Makers, account and producers on projects from the initial briefing through completion
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with account management, production, strategy/planning teams and others within the B2B team to ensure that the work (1) supports overall brand goals and objectives and (2) is aligned with the rest of the agency marketing plans
  • Collaborate with Makers (and Tech and/or video production) to come up with the best possible creative solutions from concept through execution
  • Partner closely with Art Directors and designers to conceive and execute assignments based on the brief
  • Represent the B2B creative team in cross-functional teams and meetings as a business communication expert.

Breakthrough Work/Execution:

  • Write strong and original and smart (on strategy) copy that is in line in with the brief, business objectives, deadlines, and processes
  • Plan, write, edit, test and improve content including presentation decks, print and digital lead generation assets, mobile and web interfaces and other content throughout the client's marketing experiences
  • Routinely conceptualize creative solutions that effectively communicate the strategic intent for each tactic within the assigned brief
  • Write perfect, pleasing and tactical copy that will engage the reader
  • Create on-voice and engaging responsive messaging
  • Ensure consistent brand voice
  • Communicate thorough knowledge of assigned products
  • Develop ongoing editorial calendars with copy and concepts that align with brand voice and tone
  • Pitch creative concepts to senior creative teams. Present story boards to senior teams
  • Create and edit product content to educate audiences and effectively drive increased consideration and conversion
  • Effectively handle multiple assignments at one time.

Client Management:

  • Build relationships at appropriate client/vendor level
  • Assist in making presentations to client. Develop client presentations behind the scenes
  • Facilitate creative meetings
  • Participate in the new business activities of the agency
  • Manage challenging situations both internally and with the client
  • Contribute to and manage billing and activity reports, completing timesheets accurately.

Team Growth:

  • Assist in the education and development of junior Copy
