Un termen care descrie, se subintelege din alti termeni ca: public, reach, rata de citire si care confera valoarea de unic sau diferit, dupa ce dublurile au fost luate in considerare. Spre deosebire de masuratorile brute (gross), cele nete care se refera la publicuri ale unor canale media diferite nu pot fi adunate pentru a da un total valabil pentru toata campania. Este nevoie de o analiza computerizata pentru a furniza informatii nete despre audienta.
De exemplu, daca o Publicatie A are o rata de citire de 100000 de numere, iar Publicatia B are o rata de 50000 de exemplare; ambele au 20000 de cititori comuni, rata de citire neta a publicatiilor este de 80000+30000 = 110000 (vezi: Net Reach).
Metodele de masurare'gross' ofera o perspectiva vasta asupra campaniei sau weight
(vezi: GRPs, Gross ..., Impressions).
A descriptor prefacing, or implied in, other terms such as audience, reach, readership and which conveys 'unique or different', after duplication is taken into account. Unlike gross measures, net measures relating to audiences for individual media vehicles cannot simply be added together to provide a total for the media campaign. A computerised analysis is required to provide net audience data. For example, if Publication A has an average issue readership of 100,000 and Publication B an average issue readership of 50,000, and 20,000 readers read both publications, the net readership of Publications A + B is 80,000 + 30,000 = 110,000 (see Net Reach). 'Gross' measures provide a broader overview of total campaign delivery or weight (see GRPs, Gross ..., Impressions).
