Asemanat cu Bill Bernbach, numit Steve Jobs-ul publicitatii, Alex Bogusky a refuzat permanent sa mearga in directia majoritatii. Sau sa respecte vreo regula. Caci, pana la urma, toate regulile sunt facute de oameni, nu? La fel si status quo-ul fiecarui moment. Ordinea lucrurilor pare sa fi fost intotdeauna o tinta de atac, fie ca vorbim de publicitate sau mergem in afara ei. El pune totul, insa, pe seama unei curiozitati simple: "cum ar fi daca am face lucrurile invers"?
I think that it is somewhat inherent that I am a bit of a contrarian. Although I worked in advertising, I never really particularly like it. That sounds funny. I liked the work, but I didn't think of it as something to be held up. It wasn’t something lofty. It was something to mess with.
I think my approach was always like, "I wonder if you could do it this way, instead of that way?" or "if you could turn it upside down, if you could do the opposite of the way we're doing things now," out of curiosity, I guess.
