Un singur document HTML, care, vazut cu un browser pe www, poate fi mai mare decat ecranul si necesita scrolling pentru a vedea intreg continutul. Site-urile mare pot avea mii de pagini de informatii. Fiecare pagina reprezinta un document HTML, care in mod normal contine textul, dar si codurile pentru imaginile afisate si ale altor elemente - cum ar fi documentele multimedia.
A single HTML file which, when viewed by a browser on the World Wide Web (WWW), could be several screen-dimensions long, requiring 'scrolling' to view contents that are off-screen. Large web sites may have thousands of pages of information. Each page comprises an HTML document which normally contains the displayed text as well as the formatting code for placing images and other online elements on screen such as multimedia files (see WWW, Web Site).
