Materialele(sticla, aluminiu, carton,etc) folosite la inceput pentru a contine si proteja un produs, in ultimii ani, rolul packaging-ului s-a extins, astfel incat, pe langa ambajaj si protectie, scopul lor a devenit si acela de a atrage atentia, a aduce informatii aditionale despre produs si a asista promovarea.
